Request a city
When you request a city, we store what you enter, the resolved city and country, approximate city coordinates, your browser's user-agent string, and the request date. Please enter only a city—not your name, email, street address, or other personal details.
We do not ask for email addresses or store raw IP addresses in city-request records. To reduce spam and repeat requests, we store a one-way hash derived from your IP address using a daily rotating salt. This is a pseudonymous identifier, not a guarantee of complete anonymity. Requests from a shared internet connection may be treated as duplicates.
City text is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to identify the city. Your IP address and browser details are not sent with that lookup. City coordinates describe the city, not your precise location.
City requests help plan future events and prepare aggregate summaries for promoters. Entries, counts, and summaries are not shown on the public website. Only authorized administrators can review and manage them. Stored request data is retained for demand analysis until removed by an administrator.
